Your Safety is our Priority

The Champaign County Freedom Celebration Committee wants everyone to have a safe and happy Fourth of July. We recommend the following things be kept in mind while enjoying the days events:

PLEASE NOTE: SEATING RESTRICTIONS FOR FIREWORKS!!!

Due to safety concerns in the immediate area of the fireworks launch site, public safety agencies have restricted seating in the following areas:

Dodds Soccer & Softball Fields

• DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!
• Watch for traffic when crossing streets.
• Hold the hands of small children when crossing streets and keep them close at hand while sitting watching the parade and fireworks. It's easy for children to get lost in a crowd.
• Do not allow children to run onto the parade route at any time.
• Do not use any type of fireworks in or around any type of crowd. Leave the fireworks to the professionals. For more information, please see National Council on Fireworks Safety homepage.
• Park only in designated parking areas.
